PRESSING QUESTIONS

How I knew this was my passion

I discovered my passion for this field several years into my career while working at a tile showroom. I was inspired by the artistic possibilities that tile and stone could create in a space. I also love working with people and helping them design a space they are excited to come home to.

Biggest challenges in my career

The biggest challenge is the time it takes to get everything accomplished in a day.

My first job and what it taught me

My internship at Joseph Minton Interiors taught me the intricacies of design schematics and processes for creating beautiful spaces. I also learned the significance of client relationships and how to collaborate with diverse personalities.

A nonprofit I wish more people knew about

Community Crossroads.

What keeps me coming back to my job every day

The ever-changing creativity of my projects, and my passion for working with clients to create beautiful spaces.

Best career moment so far

It is difficult to pinpoint one moment but seeing how supported and vital Bottega has been to the interior design and building community has been the biggest reward.

A skill I never expected to need in this field

I never expected the extensive complexities involved in managing the business aspect.

One practice I use to maintain my mental health

Quiet time in the mornings.

Best advice I ever received

Remain committed to my vision and passion for the design industry while delivering an exceptional experience for clients.

The one thing I wish people knew about my field

The time, complexity and thoughtfulness required to pull a project together successfully. As my mom always says, “designing is not like ordering a pizza.”

The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall

Seek advice from my mentors and colleagues. I love to approach challenges as an opportunity to learn and grow as a business owner and designer.
