PRESSING QUESTIONS

How I knew this was my passion

Everything in my life began to converge — my business experience, my education and a deeply personal desire to give back after the loss of my sister.

Biggest challenges in my career

Serving as a U.S. Army Captain during Operation Desert Storm and leading a compliance team post-9/11 prepared me to guide TAFB through the COVID-19 pandemic.

My first job and what it taught me

The Army instilled values I still use today — high standards, disciplined execution and that success is built on trust, teamwork and shared purpose.

A nonprofit I wish more people knew about

Tarrant Area Food Bank — if you haven’t toured or volunteered with us, I hope you will.

What keeps me coming back to my job every day

The impact and the people. Our work directly changes lives by ensuring families, children and seniors have access to the food they need.

A skill I never expected to need in this field

Crisis management at scale — making rapid, high-impact decisions in uncertain, evolving situations.

One practice I use to maintain my mental health

Taking intentional time to reset — whether through running, golf, quiet reflection or time with my husband and dogs.

Best advice I ever received

Life is shorter than you think — do what you love and do it often.

The one thing I wish people knew about my field

Behind every meal is a coordinated effort involving supply chains, data, community relationships and dedicated people.

The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall

Reassess. I engage mentors, my team and partners to gain fresh insight and move forward with renewed focus.
